Yr10 Cover - 5th July

By the end of this term, all of the Assignment 3 (trailer, magazine, website) coursework needs to be finished. Please look at the list of tasks below and work through them.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BOOK IN AN AFTERSCHOOL WITH ME, YOU CAN DO SO HERE

1)   Complete coursework pages 1-11. At the end of this blog post I will write a reminder list of what they are (but this info is, as always, on the spreadsheet!)

2)   Coursework page 12 - take TWO screenshots of particularly good mise-en-scene in your filming/design in your website or magazine, paste these into ONE page of a word document. Annotate them showing the choices you made in shooting these scenes (think SCALE)
  • Setting
  • Costume, Props & Make Up
  • Actors
  • Lighting & Sound
  • Editing & Camerawork
For magazines and websites, also think about font choice, colour, layout, language choice etc.

3)  Editing/designing - finish your trailer/magazine/website.

4)   IF YOU FINISH ALL OF THE ABOVE, START PLANNING OUT YOUR EVALUATION. This does not need finishing this term, but the more you do this term - the less for you to do over the summer! The evaluation follows the following questions:

  • how the aims of the production have been met
  • how the product applies appropriate codes and conventions and uses appropriate media language
  • how the product represents people, places or events
  • where and when the product would be exhibited
  • what regulations and controls might be applied to the product and how these have been taken into consideration
  • the strengths and weaknesses of the product in terms of meeting the needs of its audience.

Coursework Pages
1 - Introduction and initial ideas
2 - Annotated moodboard
3 - Screenshot of your survey - *if you can annotate this to explain why you asked each question that would add to it*
4 - Survey analysis
5 - Regulation (BBFC, publishing law, copyright etc., whatever is relevant to your product)
6 & 7 - 2 analyses (either 2 trailers, a frontpage and contents page, homepage and article page)
8, 9 & 10 - Storyboard/annotated sketch design plans
11 - Evidence of editing (Premiere/InDesign/Photoshop screenshots annotated to explain how you created your product)
12 - Annotated mise-en-scene/design (see point 2 above)
